The author and pastor discusses Israel recently stopping humanitarian aid into Gaza, and if it could affect the extension of the ongoing ceasefire.
The ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been useful for the most part, resulting in the release of several crucial hostages as well as a number of Palestinian prisoners. But what happens next?
Israel is hoping that the ceasefire will continue. However, it recently made a dangerous move to assure this, as it has stopped the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza until Hamas responds to its request to extend it.
This comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided support for a U.S. proposal to temporarily extend the deal during the holy month of Ramadan and the Jewish holiday Passover. However, it appears that Hamas has immediately rejected it, noting that it’s nothing more than “a blatant coup against the ceasefire deal.”
With this halting of aid, it’s now a question of whether the ceasefire will come to an end or not. And, more importantly, if it should, especially with the release of so many innocents back to their families.
Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.
Q&A:
- What do you think about the ceasefire as it has taken place thus far? We’ve seen the release of key hostages and Palestinian prisoners. Is this a good thing for the long term?
- Is Israel extending its hand too far by cutting off humanitarian aid to Gaza? Could this essentially bring the current ceasefire to an end?
- Is Benjamin Netanyahu going too far with his trust in Donald Trump’s proposal? Or could it be the key component to peace in the Middle East?
- How about how Hamas is reacting with an immediate rejection, calling out what they believe is “a blatant coup”?
- Where do you see the conflict going in the next few months? Could it get worse before it get better?
- You discuss something called the Tribulation quite often. Tell us more about it, and when you think it might take place.
