A spokesman for the group discusses the overwhelming positive feedback behind the show, even as the CCP continues to rally against it.
These days, it’s easy for something to receive an overwhelming amount of hatred, especially with the way social media is set up.
The Chinese Communist Party has been going out of its way to fight back against the Shen Yun production, which celebrates all things Chinese culture. It’s even gone as far as to collaborate with several U.S. outlets and YouTube personalities, in an effort to spread even more hatred against it.
However, even with all that going, we’re seeing a number of overwhelming positive stories from people that have seen the show and praised it based upon its production values and messaging.
A dance teacher named Nick Tax, alongside his fiancée Ana Turcu, has expressed that Shen Yun “fills me with life,” saying it makes him want to “perfect myself” more than ever.
For that matter, company vice president Cindy Guinasso, alongside her husband Angelo, called Shen Yun “wonderful” and “amazing to see” as a whole.
Classical ballet dancer Tihana Trupeljak-Bujanic also believes the show was “really amazing” and “you can see the soul,” something very rare in productions nowadays.
With that, a spokesman for Shen Yun joins us now to discuss these online praises, and how they stand out amidst the ongoing negativity seen from different sources. We welcome them to the show!
Q&A:
- Why are so many against the Shen Yun production to begin with? Do they really have that level of hatred against the people at Falun Gong?
- How have you been reacting to that? Has it affected the performance in any way?
- What about the growing number of positive reviews about the show? Are you surprised how many people take away something from it? Or is this expected?
- Do you think we’ll see more positive reviews of the show to balance out against the negative ones? Could we see even more praise as the show continues to tour?
- You recently came across a bomb scare during one of the performances. How have you recovered from that, and how well have organizers been working with you regarding these threats?
- Where can we learn more about the beautiful art of Shen Yun, and how it motivates others?
- The official website can be found here. Tickets to shows are also available there for purchase.
