Key Oil Chokepoint Now World’s Most Dangerous Flashpoint as Israel and Iran Trading Heavier Blows
The conflict between Israel and Iran, with the United States involved, could be reaching critical new levels, according to the Founder and President of the Shiloh, Israel Children’s Fund, former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin.
Just over the weekend, Iran launched an attack on two southern Israeli cities that are close to a nearby nuclear research center. During the same period, U.S. president Donald Trump made a “power” move of his own.
In a statement, Trump demanded that Iran open a crucial waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 hours. Iran’s threats have forced certain transport vessels to cease travel, which could create chaos on oil supply and, in effect, gas prices.
If they fail to do so, Trump warns, “America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!”
While Trump insists that the war is “winding down,” these latest threats indicate that some of the bigger moves could be made, especially if the U.S. follows through on the attacks of what Iran deems “vital infrastructure site”” across the Gulf region.
So what happens now? Will Iran eventually give in, or are the worst attacks on power yet to come?
Rubin, who currently serves as the founder and President of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, joins us now to discuss the situation further. Welcome, Mayor Rubin.
