Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin discusses a situation that could not only involve Hezbollah, but also the United States.
With everything happening between Israel and Hamas at the moment, there’s some question as to whether others could become involved – particularly Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group based in the Middle East.
Israel has been considering a military operation in Lebanon, noting frustration over conflicts that have been happening at its borders. It’s already hinted that a diplomatic solution simply isn’t in the cards.
That seems to have gotten the attention of the United States, concerned that Prime Minister Netanyahu’s push to expand conflict into Lebanon could have an impact on their political beliefs. In fact, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting Israel, in the hopes of de-escalating the matter.
So could this lead to an even bigger war, in which Hezbollah would unleash its significant military arsenal against Israel? Would this also push Israel’s own military forces beyond its extent as it stands, considering what’s happening in Gaza?
