Marx, Matches, and Martyrs: Persecution of Christians was Foretold; Marxism is setting Fire to Gospels
President Donald Trump recently reiterated a stark truth he first raised at the United Nations: Christianity is now the most persecuted religion in the world. Rev. Jim Harden, a leading pro-life advocate and president of the Christian medical network CompassCare, argues that this global reality is no longer confined overseas—it is rapidly taking root in the United States, driven by an emboldened Marxist ideology that now animates nearly every major protest movement.

Harden’s warning is not theoretical. In 2022, pro-abortion Antifa extremists firebombed two CompassCare pregnancy centers in New York, injuring firefighters and causing millions in damage. That moment changed Harden forever. Since then, he has immersed himself in the study of Marxism—not as an academic exercise, but as a survival necessity.
“What I discovered,” Harden says, “is that Marxism is not just an economic theory. It is an atheistic belief system that must eliminate Christianity because Christianity stands in the way of total ideological control.”
For nearly four years, CompassCare has endured weaponized legislation from New York State and New York City, aggressive lawfare by the state attorney general, doxing, death threats, cyberattacks, debanking, censorship, Big Tech viewpoint discrimination, and politicized federal scrutiny. Harden argues these pressures mirror the same patterns of Marxist-driven persecution seen historically—and today—in places like China, Cuba, and Venezuela.
Harden previously appeared on Charlie Kirk’s show to discuss the firebombing of his Buffalo-area medical office. Following the attempted assassination of Kirk, Harden publicly rejected efforts to dismiss such violence as mere “political unrest,” arguing instead that attacks targeting Christians for living out their faith constitute religious persecution—full stop.
Now, Harden is sounding the alarm in a new book, Endure the Rising Christian Persecution for the Greater Reward, which has already reached Amazon’s #1 New Release status. The book combines firsthand accounts of persecution with biblical guidance, pointing to Christ’s warning in Matthew 24 that persecution would intensify in the last days.
CompassCare spokesperson and Project 21 Ambassador Ayesha Kruetz underscores the urgency:
“What we’re seeing isn’t isolated hostility—it’s coordinated ideological aggression. Christians are being targeted precisely because their beliefs shape their public actions.”
Harden insists the conflict is ultimately spiritual. “There are only two things sacred—God and people. And because every person bears God’s image from the moment of fertilization, Marxism must destroy that truth.”
This is not just a pro-life story. It is a warning to America.
