With the Impeachment of Mayorkas In the House, Will This Wake Up Joe Biden To Do Something About the Migrant Crisis? (Guest: Michael Letts)

The InVest USA founder and law enforcement veteran discusses the impeachment of the former Homeland Security Secretary, and what needs to happen next.

After a previous attempt had failed due to a number of Democrats protecting him, Alejandro Mayorkas is officially impeached.

During a vote Tuesday night, Mayorkas was impeached from the position by a very narrow 214-213 vote. He’s been the target of discussion surrounding the failure to contain the ongoing migrant crisis in the United States – a problem that President Joe Biden has yet to address head-on.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson noted that Mayorkas “deserved to be impeached” in a written statement. “From his first day in office, Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and consistently refused to comply with federal immigration laws, fueling the worst border catastrophe in American history. He has undermined public trust through multiple false statements to Congress, obstructed lawful oversight of the Department of Homeland Security, and violated his oath of office.”

That said, there’s a big uphill battle in trying to get the impeachment to pass through the Senate, which is ruled by a Democratic majority. It’s likely that Mayorkas will get to keep his job – but should this serve as a warning for Biden to do something about the migrant crisis?

Joining us now to discuss this matter further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts is President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. His expertise in all things law and order make him a great guest for this subject. Welcome, Mr. Letts!

Q&A:

  1. Let’s just get right into it. Did the House make the right decision in removing Mayorkas from his Homeland Security Secretary position?
  2. Why do you think Mayorkas – and, for that matter, Joe Biden – failed so badly with the migrant crisis?
  3. Are they more concerned with the “humane” treatment of said migrants instead of actually defending the people of this nation? Or is there another factor at play here with the relationship with other countries?
  4. With this impeachment, will Biden finally do something about the migrant crisis? Or will he continue to let it “slide” as the Senate will likely give Mayorkas his job back?
  5. What kind of damage is the migrant crisis doing to Biden’s reputation? Could that potentially serve as fuel for Republicans to pursue his impeachment as well, even so close to the end of his term?
  6. If you were in charge of taking care of the migrant crisis, how would you go about it?
  7. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  8. Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers.
    1. You can visit our official InVest USA website, and learn more on the official Invest USA Twitter account. You can also learn about my new initiative at RestoringJustice.US, where we discuss lawful issues surrounding citizens of the United States.
