WILL RITTENHOUSE NOT GUILTY VERDICT TRIGGER RIOTS? Guest: Michael Letts

Kenosha braces for possible riots in the wake of the likely Kyle Rittenhouse Not Guilty verdict, concerned citizens have amassed around the courthouse, and the nation is waiting with bated breath in the hope of no violence, property damage, or injuries. But, as Law Enforcement and National Guard personnel are in a position “just in case” needed to contain any rioting, looting, or violence, the question begs to be answered…..How did we get to this point? And what can we learn in the future? Helping us answer these questions and more, is Michael Letts, a police officer, firefighter, and 9/11 First Responder.

Q&A:

1) Is the Police department at fault for failing to act during the Kenosha Riots on August 25th, 2020. What might be different this time around?

A.) In August of 2020, Police Department personnel were acting on “orders” from political office holders….the Mayor and city council…. The fact is that First Responders took an oath to uphold the law and protect its citizens. They should never be forced to obey an unlawful stand-down order. Let’s hope the city fathers learned their lesson from last time. If not, we need to rely on the National Guard to protect Kenosha.

2) Does the Governor in either of these situations have the responsibility?

  1. Yes, Last year, the governor should have immediately suspended the Mayor and council for dereliction of duty, ordered law enforcement’s immediate engagement, and called in the National Guard. Then, if that was still not enough, he should have accepted the offer for Federal Assistance from President Trump. This time the National Guard is on hand. We can only hope the Guard doesn’t stand down and watch rioters “express themselves.”

3) What action could be taken if the verdict triggers violence?

A) In addition to the immediate full deployment of law enforcement and Guard Personnel, a curfew of 6 pm curfew should be imposed. Zero tolerance of any unlawful activity.

           4)  What can communities across America do to both support Kenosha and their communities?

  1. Call their local elected officials and insist that any violence, rioting, etc. be dealt with swiftly and forcefully

5)  What is InVestUSA doing to help our Law Enforcement and First Responders in situations like these?

GUEST: Michael Letts is the CEO and Founder of  In-Vest USA, a national grassroots non-profit organization helping hundreds of communities provide thousands of bulletproof vests for their police forces through educational, public relations, sponsorship, and fundraising programs.
