The producer and editor of the new Epoch Times documentary Gotaways discusses the big problems that Border Patrol agents are going through.
These days, what’s happening at the border is becoming a big problem in the United States. Thousands of migrants seem to be slipping through, with state governments believing the solution is simply sending them to another state.
While Border Patrol agents are doing their part to try to keep the situation from getting worse, there’s no question that many migrants are slipping through the cracks.
A stirring new documentary is now available on Epoch TV that details this further. In Gotaways, the film spans the course of a two-year timeframe, following director/producer Charlotte Cuthbertson as she looks how so many “gotaways” are slipping past the border.
So how did this become a problem? And is there anything that can be done about it? Joining us now to discuss this situation further is Kay Rubacek, producer and editor of the film. Her experience in seeing what happened and how it affects modern Americans will provide further insight into it.

- From your point of view, how bad would you say the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is right now?
- Is this mainly due to negligence on the part of the government, or simply not enough Border Patrol agents being able to stop the “gotaways” that slip through the cracks?
- Do you think there’s a potential resolution to this problem? Or is it likely to get worse before it gets better?
- You and (director/producer) Charlotte Cuthbertson spent two years putting this documentary together. Based on your experience, what would you say is the most surprising thing you’ve come across?
