Why Can’t Hamas Make a Deal?

Reconnecting Ministries founder and Romans 911 host Grant Berry discusses why Hamas’ demands will eventually work against them.

Based on the recent discussions surrounding a ceasefire, it seems that Hamas simply can’t be dealt with.

Over the weekend, it rejected a proposal to return half of its remaining living hostages (and the bodies of others), since Israel would not agree to its demands to end the war and retreat from Gaza.

However, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained very reasonably why he wouldn’t back down. “If we capitulate to the dictates of Hamas now, all the great achievements of the war, which we achieved with the merit of our soldiers and our fallen and our heroic injured, all these achievements will disappear,” he noted.

“As your prime minister, I will not capitulate to the murderers who committed the worst massacre against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Capitulation like this will endanger the country and endanger you.

“Hamas demands an end to the war and that it stays in power,” Netanyahu continued. “It also demands a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the rehabilitation of Gaza, with an influx of vast sums of money that would enable it to rearm and again prepare attacks on us.

So, at this point, has Hamas gotten to the point where it’s beyond reasoning with? Does Israel have no choice but to move forward with total annihilation of Hamas in an effort to win the war?

Joining us now to discuss this further is Grant Berry, founder of Reconnecting Ministries and the author and producer of the Romans 911 project. His expertise on the matter make him a great subject for this interview. Welcome, Mr. Berry.
