West Bank Mayor David Rubin with updates on Israel War

David Rubin discusses the devastation that took the lives of hundreds of people – and what could come next.

The war between Israel and Hamas continues to rage on – and the destruction of a hospital just delivered one of the most devastating blows yet.

The explosion took place on Tuesday, killing hundreds, according to early reports. As details continue to get sorted out, Hamas is pointing the finger at Israel, noting that it was their airstrike that destroyed the hospital. Israel says otherwise, saying a rocket destroyed it.

Here to discuss the tragedy – and who’s to blame on the matter – is David Rubin, who served as the Mayor of Shiloh from 2001 to 2019. Rubin is also author of seven books, as well as the founder of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. His expertise is welcome in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. Are the counterattacks by Israel in Gaza justified, If so, why?

Answer: Yes. Because thousands of Hamas terrorists raped scores of Israeli women, chopped off the heads of babies, burned children alive, and murdered 1,400 Israelis in cold blood. Our military offensive must be disproportionate to ensure that this never happens again.

  1. What can be done to protect civilians in Gaza?

Again, you’re shedding crocodile tears for the enemy civilians in Gaza, as if thousands of Israeli civilians haven’t just been slaughtered. Even so, Israel’s air force has dropped hundreds of thousands of flyers over Gaza calling for the enemy civilians to flee to the south of Gaza. If they ignore those warnings and are then killed in the fighting, then they are responsible for whatever happens in the midst of a war.

  1. Where do you see this war between Israel and Hamas going in the months ahead?

If Israel is decisive and totally destroys Hamas, takes all of their weapons, and retakes full control of the Gaza Strip, then the fighting will end.

  1. Is there anything you want to say to the families and friends that lost loved ones in this attack?

Our hearts and our tears are with them, but if Israel is doesn’t complete the war to the end of every last Hamas terrorist, the Israeli terror victims will have died in vain.
