Turkey’s Worthless Warrant!

Turkey’s government has issued another warrant against Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu for “genocide.”

Another day, another attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, focusing on his actions against Hamas and Hezbollah. But former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin, Founder and President of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund can’t quite put together the reasoning behind it.

  • Nearly two years after the ICC issued a warrant against him, Turkey has issued a “fresh warrant” against Netanyahu for “genocide” over Israel’s actions.
  • The warrant names both Netanyahu and other top officials for the interception of a flotilla carrying activists to the Gaza Strip back in May. International outcry followed as a result.
  • Netanyahu’s office noted that Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s warrant “will go nowhere.”

Nearly two years after the International Criminal Court issued its warrant against him for “crimes against humanity,” Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued another one for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him and other top officials of “genocide” surrounding Israel’s conflict with Hamas.

The warrant stems from a recent incident in May, in which a flotilla carrying over 400 activists to the Gaza Strip was intercepted by Israeli forces. The incident has created a huge amount of international outcry from the likes of France, Italy, and Australia, all of whom were seeking some form of criminal action.

It seems a good portion of world leaders have it out for Netanyahu. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently called out Netanyahu on social media weeks ago, initially threatening to have him arrested during his visit next month to the state for the U.N. General Assembly.

Netanyahu’s office quickly brushed the warrant aside, noting, “Erdogan’s pathetic attempt to intimidate the leaders and soldiers of Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East, will go nowhere.”

But why do world leaders still feel the need to try and charge Netanyahu with criminal actions? Do they truly believe that, at some point, their warrants will be enabled and he will be locked up? Or are they simply attention-getters at this point?

Rubin joins us now to discuss this situation further. Welcome, Mayor Rubin!

Q&A:

  1. Why is it that countries such as Turkey, France and others believe they have the capacity to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu? Are they merely trying to get attention? Or do they believe they have enough validity to put these warrants into action?
  2. The ICC’s warrant from November 2024 remains ongoing, despite the fact that no actions have been taken against Netanyahu. Is this a surprise, or do you believe they lack enough sufficient evidence to actually execute the warrant?
  3. These warrants note that Netanyahu is guilty of “genocide” and “war crimes.” But is the finger being pointed in the wrong direction, especially considering Hamas’ actions that began the conflict to begin with?
  4. Speaking of Netanyahu, do you believe he should still visit the U.N. General Assembly next month, despite Mamdani’s warnings that he’ll try to have him arrested?
  5. Where do you see the conflict between Israel and Hamas eventually concluding? Will Hamas finally surrender? Or will it take conflict to end their initiative?
  6. Tell us more about your work with the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund and how it can help those in need.

ABOUT DAVID RUBIN…

David Rubin lives in Israel. In 2001, he and his three-year-old son narrowly escaped heinous deaths at the hands of terrorists. If it had not been for his car suddenly starting, Rubin and his son would not have been so fortunate. The younger Rubin deals with the trauma to this day. That experience is what led David to establish the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, to help other young victims of Islamic terrorism, who need to process and deal with their trauma. Rubin, also the former Mayor of Shiloh, Israel is the author of seven books, including his latest, Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel, which has recently been made into a movie. Rubin is the founder and president of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, established after he and his then three-year-old son were wounded in a terror attack.
