Intro: President Trump has an historic opportunity to place a third supreme court nominee on the bench. Although it is unlikely, as the senate confirmation hearings could consume the countdown to election day clock, that this nominee will be confirmed before the outcome of the election. Here to talk about that and other issues is Ed Martin, otherwise known as the Political Purple Martin of politics.
- President Trump can swing the Supreme Court with a conservative nominee. An announcement is due this week on the nominee to replace associate Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg. Former President George W. Bush appointed Chief Justice John Roberts in 2005, and like most politicians expected him to tow the party line and not interpret the law. Roberts “forged a compromise in 2012 with the four Supreme Court liberal justices to uphold the signature domestic achievement” of the Obama Administration, ObamaCare.
- You have a unique theory on the Purple State perspective and believe that the election essentially comes down to these ten states? Most political strategists agree Ohio, Michigan, Florida, all swing states, new to this equation are Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa. Explain your theory.
- Equality has become a landmarked issue in America and one that Bader-Ginsburg fought successfully to change, as her own life challenges empowered her to face these obstacles in society. Ginsburg dedicated her career to ensuring that marginalized groups received justice. Conversely Phyllis Schlafly, who campaigned against feminism and abortion, named you successor to her as her successor as President of her Eagle Forum organizations, describe the potential SCOTUS petitions should a fourth conservative leaning justice be confirmed? And what laws would the conservative platform and SuperPAC’s like to see repealed? And why?
- Obviously, you hold to beliefs that the democrat agenda is bad politically for American. Describe the first 100 days of a Biden-Harris term – And the first 100 days of a Trump Second Term?
- So, give us a prediction on the election, Which candidate will win Presidency? By what margin? Which party will take the Senate? House?
