Intro: Two questions: 1) Can there be peace in the Middle East? 2) Can there be peace in the Middle East—without Palestinians at the table? Israel mayor David thinks so and joins us in the discussion.

President Trump’s obvious progress making relations in the Middle East must be considered when looking at his overall record. Unlike his predecessors, he kept a campaign promise so many have made and moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This was a major symbolic gesture decried for the unrest it would create that never happened. ISIS atrocities were an all too common occurrence during the Obama Administration, but they don’t exist anymore due to President Trump’s policy. Relations between a number of Arab countries have improved and that has resulted in many useful security agreements between Israel and Saudi Arabia and now Israel, Bahrain and the UAE.

This is by far the most successful Middle East policy of any administration in the last 30-years, but if you ask Joe Biden’s people, you wouldn’t know it.

Here to explain is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and author of the book, “Trump and the Jews.”

Q&A:

Can There Be Really Middle East Peace Without the Palestinians?

  1. Mayor Rubin, do you believe there can be peace in the Middle East without bringing Palestinians to the table?

Answer: Yes, absolutely.

  1. How can you call the recent agreements “peace” deals that Trump has made, when he did not even involve the Palestinians?

Answer: To enlist the name of Trump’s well-known book: That’s the Art of the Deal. He amazed the world by making peace without the perpetually pesky Palestinians. What most people do not know is that the Palestinians are actually a non-existent people. A bunch of Arabs just adopted the name from the Romans, who renamed Israel and Judea, calling Palestina to hide the previously sovereign nation of Jews. There is no such thing as a Palestinian government or people anywhere in history.

  1. How many other countries is Trump courting for peace without Palestinian approval?

There are more than twenty Arab countries in the Middle East. Several may soon be on board the peace train. Why do they need anyone’s approval to make peace with Israel? Countries like the UAE and Bahrain have come to understand that they can act according to their own self-interest without the approval of the Palestinian terrorists.

  1. It is good that those countries and Israel signed peace agreements, but why weren’t the Palestinians offered a peace deal? Are you serious? They have been offered many peace deals by many Israeli politicians and they have rejected them all. As the expression goes, “the so-called Palestinians have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity.” For the past 56 years since the Palestine Liberation Organization was created in1964, they have been demanding an independent state with its capital in Israel’s capital city, Jerusalem. Until that changes, there will never be peace with them, but that is their problem.
  1. Yes, but don’t they deserve their own independent state?
Absolutely not, and certainly not in the biblical heartland of Israel. Maybe someplace else, but we are not giving up our historic homeland so that an armed band of Muslim radicals can create a state that is determined to wipe us off the map.
  1. But aren’t they the indigenous people?
Answer: The only indigenous people are the Jews, who were sovereign in the Land of Israel for over a thousand years, in the days of King David, King Solomon, and many other great leaders. The Jews were expelled by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago; they changed the name to Palestina and in 1964, the Arabs of the Land of Israel started calling themselves Palestinians, but they are definitely not the indigenous people. The Jews are.
