TOPIC: NY Gov. Cuomo’s Sexual Misconduct, a Law Enforcement Perspective

“Elected officials, social influencers, and celebrities must be held to the highest standard of the legal system—if NY Governor Cuomo skirts these egregious violations, then the American people will see that there is a two-tiered level of justice: one for regular Americans and one for the highest level of political influencers in the Democrat party. When injustice prevails, it demoralizes the entire law enforcement community, as well as the victims of the crime. No one should be above the law.

As a former law enforcement professional, I am wondering where the indictments are against Gov. Cuomo. The law in socialist countries depends upon who is in power, so I am skeptical that anything at all will result in this investigation.”  Michael Letts, CEO/Founder of InVest USA.

The NY Attorney General’s report additionally found that Gov. Cuomo had harassed a state trooper assigned to his protective detail. Today’s report has high profile Democrats from President Joe Biden to both New York Senators calling for Cuomo to resign, but will he?

A lack of consequences for anyone who violates the law regardless of their position puts American on a dangerous path.

Talking Points:

  • Where are the indictments? So, if you’re not indicting anyone, why would you hold a press conference to put the information out there?
  • Based on the knowledge of the investigation, how does that affect the average officer on the street?
  • Does this help or hurt the law enforcement community, ie two-tiered justice system: one for citizens and one for those in power?
  • Why would you spend a ton of money and five months conducting an independent investigation on the allegations against Gov. Cuomo and not seek an indictment?
  • What message does this send to these 11 victims? How will this affect general investigations on sexual harassment or sexual assault? It will hinder like- investigations because of a two-tiered justice system.
  • The end of the report says the AG’s office will continue to pursue the case? What does that mean?
