Special Guests

TOPIC: Israel’s Imminent New Government with Naftali Bennett as first Prime Minister in rotation with Netanyahu. Will it happen?

And, time permitting, a discussion of Mayor Rubin’s NEW BOOK – Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel

INTERVIEW GUEST: David Rubin, native New Yorker and former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and author of the brand-new book, Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel. Available for purchase on Amazon.

AVAILABILITY: New York City on Wednesday, May 5th or via phone or Zoom the following week.

Intro: Israeli politics can be complicated. The latest development in the reborn ancient nation is that a relatively unknown name to Americans, Naphtali Bennett, could become Israel’s next prime minister, with or without a power sharing arrangement with current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The deadline for Netanyahu to cut a deal to save his political career is May 4, 2021 at 5 pm Eastern Time. There is no guarantee Israeli President Reuven Rivlin will grant Netanyahu two more weeks of negotiating time and Rivlin has indicated he has lost patience over the unprecedented four elections in less than two years. He and the rest of Israel do not have the stomach for a fifth election, likely to yield the same results.

While Naphtali Bennett is more conservative than Netanyahu, yet he’s expressed willingness to coalesce with the Left, if he can’t cut a satisfactory deal to co-government with Netanyahu. But regardless of whether Naphtali cuddles up with conservatives or liberals, he is definitely the current kingmaker in the biblical land of King David.

Helping sort this out for us is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, a native New Yorker who made Aliyah to Israel. His latest book is Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel.

Q&A:

  • Will Prime Minister Netanyahu’s agreement to a power sharing arrangement with Naftali Bennett lead to a stable conservative coalition?
  • Israel has been thriving economically under Netanyahu’s leadership – how will this new proposed power sharing arrangement with Naftali Bennett impact Israel and the Israel – America relationship the US?
  • If Bennett receives the first chance to be PM in rotation, how would he be different from Netanyahu?
  • If Naphtali cannot cut a satisfactory co-governing deal with Netanyahu, would this arch conservative really form a coalition with the political Left, including Arab parties? If so, what might that look like?
  • Elections aside, what about the reality of the Iran threat to Israel, after the revelation of John Kerry’s backroom discussions with the Islamic regime, as well as the Biden Administration’s apparent willingness to make major concessions in order to return to the nuclear deal?
  • Socialism and totalitarianism always lead to suffering and dying—why are so many young Americans supporting it?
  • Why is the term “democratic socialism” deceptive in what it does to destroy and dismantle a thriving economic system? How did Israel deal with its own socialist failure?
  • Tell us about your new book: Confronting Radicals: What America can learn from Israel and where we may buy it.

MORE for longer interviews with hosts wanting to focus on the growing threat from radicals:

The growing surge in radicalism in America exploded in the spring of 2020 with the Portland Antifa riots—and has not let up. The radical Left is exploiting everything that can be politicized from race to police shootings to states strengthening election laws. Along the way, communities—and minority owned business, have been decimated in some of the nation’s largest cities.

Radicalism, the rising tide of socialism, and capitulating to America’s enemies has been embraced by the Democrat party and the Biden Administration. Chaos and anarchy will gradually morph into totalitarianism, leading to the removal of individual rights and freedoms.

In his new book, Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel, David Rubin discusses the danger of the radical left in America and what we can learn from the Israeli experience.
