The House Just Shut Down the Biden Administration’s Silly Attempt to Defund School Shooting Sports Programs

A spokesperson for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms explain why this is such a pivotal victory for genuine safety.

The Biden Administration has been on a tear as of late in an effort to slow gun violence. The only thing is, however, they’ve gone the wrong way about it.

For instance, it attempted to defund school shooting sports programs, believing they don’t serve a benefit to students. However, the House says otherwise, recently approving the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, which shuts down any attempt by the Administration and allowing funding to continue.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms applauded the House for its decision. “Joe Biden’s attempt to stop funding for these important school programs was yet another demonstration of just how extreme this administration can be when it comes to guns and even hunting,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb.

“These are programs that not only provide valuable and genuine safety training, but they also contribute to teaching the next generation about wildlife conservation while passing along an American tradition.”

That said, Gottlieb continued, “However, just because 208 Democrats voted for this measure does not forgive their past and future support for restrictive gun control legislation. Evidently, Democrats are beginning to realize the gun issue will not play well during the 2024 campaign, and that Biden’s attempt to cut off funding for school shooting sports could bring lots of angry sportsmen and women to the polls next November. They are trying to distance themselves from this extremely anti-gun-rights administration.”

A representative for the CCRKBA (and also with the Second Amendment Foundation) joins us now to discuss this further.

Q&A:

  1. What reason do you believe that the Biden Administration was going after school shooting sports activities in the first place? Were they concerned about students having access to guns? Or something else?
  2. Why do you think the Biden Administration is pushing so hard for gun bans instead of looking at other solutions – like the Concealed-Carry option that members of the CCRKBA support?
  3. Do you believe this overturning of the Administration’s attempts on defunding the projects could have any effect on President Biden’s for a second turn as President in 2024?
  4. Is there a chance that Biden may find another option to get these school sports defunded? Or will he simply move on to the next item on his agenda?
  5. Where does the CCRKBA stand when it comes to defending the rights of all gun owners heading into 2024?
  6. Where can people call in to pledge their support to the CCRKBA?
    1. The number to support the group is (800) 699-0992.
  7. Where can we learn more about the  and its members?
