A spokesman for the Second Amendment Foundation discusses the staggering increase in license losses, due to Biden’s crackdown.
The Second Amendment has been put in place to protect the rights of U.S. citizens to bear arms – but that isn’t stopping President Joe Biden and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) from going after those that sell guns.
A new report from the New York Post revealed that the ATF has wrongfully taken licenses away from 122 gun dealers over the past year. That marks a 350 percent increase from the 27 removals that took place back in 2021.
Anthony Navarro, one of the legal gun sellers that lost their license, noted, “This policy is designed to be a backdoor violation of the Second Amendment.” He, alongside others, noted that these license removals come down to nothing more than small paperwork errors – not even close to major violations when it comes to gun sales.
Leslie Gifford, who also had a license pulled for selling a firearm to a concealed carry holder from Nebraska, also noted, “Mr. Biden wants to get rid of all of us little dealers.”
Do Biden and the ATF have strong legal standing with their policy? Or could the gun sellers fight back in court? Joining us now to discuss this further is a member of the Second Amendment Foundation, a group that firmly believes in the right for all citizens to bear arms. Their expertise will certainly be handy in this matter.
Q&A:
- So is this policy that Biden and the ATF are putting on gun sellers across the U.S. legal? Are they really nailing them on small technicalities when they’re putting caution into who they sell guns to?
- Do you believe these gun sellers could take some part in legal action against Biden and the ATF, especially considering the vagueness of their policy?
- Gun dealers reportedly threatened to stop informing federal authorities about suspicious buyers in retaliation for these gun license removals. Could this come back and bite Biden and the ATF later on?
- What should Biden and the ATF be doing when it comes to guns? We know Biden has his stance on wanting to ban all “assault weapons,” but what do you think they should be focusing on instead?
