On Monday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear arguments against the Biden administration’s requirement that owners of homemade firearms add serial numbers to them. The rule also mandates background checks on buyers of gun assembly kits.
The current government treats pieces of guns that are shipped as is if they were complete guns, subject to existing laws.
Gun owners argue the two-year-old rule is unconstitutional and abusive.
