The spokesman for Gun Owners of America discusses a new tactic by PA Democrats to secure gun rights from citizens.
Some people in charge really go out of their way attempting to violate the Second Amendment for the sake of some form of gun control. And this time, Democrats in Pennsylvania are taking a turn with a sneaky new tactic.
A new bill is set to be heard by the House Judiciary Committee in the state that will create a form of what’s known as “backdoor gun control.” The bill, HB 2018, is being presented to introduce a “Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board” that expands information-sharing authority among law enforcement, courts and a new review board. With that, the following can be argued:
- That “system failures” include lack of gun confiscation
- That background checks are insufficient
- That PFA firearm surrender rules should be expanded
- That Red Flag Gun Confiscation Orders are “necessary”
It would also allow review teams to recommend “changes in legislature, regulations and policies,” such as:
- Frame firearms access as a “risk factor”
- Promote Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws
- Advocate for mandatory gun seizure upon allegation, not convictions
- Recommend expansion of prohibited-person categories
In other words, full-on violation of gun rights through backdoor control. With the creation of this Board, the possibility of creating a pipeline for data collection – including information on who owns firearms – could enter the fray.
Joining us to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the 2017 “hero with a gun” who serves as spokesman for the group. We welcome him to the show.
Q&A:
- Why do you think local Democrats continue to fight for some form of gun control in certain states? Even with the Second Amendment protecting the right to bear arms?

- If passed, what kind of trouble would this mean for private gun owners?
- Could the Second Amendment still protect them if such a bill was passed?
- What can concerned people do to voice their concerns about this attempt to control gun rights via “backdoor” policy?
