SECOND WAVE OF COVID-19: To Shut down (again) or not to Shut Down? Ask Israel.

David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, available to interview by Zoom, Skype or Phone (local U.S. number that rings through into Israel at no expense)

Intro: Initially, Americans rejoiced after being able to head back to bars, beaches and sit-down restaurants again. Unfortunately, that headlong rush to the public square has caused COVID-19 to rear its ugly head again with widespread reports of spikes in infections. But there’s one nation who has handled the COVID crisis with a great deal of success. Joining us to discuss how Israel has handled this pandemic is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel.

Q&A:

  1. Why did Israel gradually reopen its economy after two months of closure?
  2. What form has the opening taken and what have been the results?
  3. As a result of the increased infections, will the economy close down again? Should it?
  4. In New York City, with a population slightly smaller than Israel, 22,000 people have died from Covid-19. In Israel only 300 have died. How can we explain that?
  5. What do you think America should do about our coronavirus situation?
  6. Where may we get more information about you and your work in Israel?
