President Joe Biden is Reversing Course On Domestic Oil Production, But Is It a Move Merely To Protect His Own Interests? (Guest: Guy Mitchell)

Author Guy Mitchell discusses the latest environmental move by the President, which goes against his previous direction.

After spending a great deal of time pushing back against domestic oil production, President Joe Biden appears to be shifting course in an effort to fight back against rising gas prices and overall inflation.

Per this report from Newsmax, Biden’s new plan will produce a “profit for taxpayers” with domestic oil production, releasing 15 more barrels of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). To help provide an incentive, he is offering a $70 per barrel guaranteed price to sell back to the U.S. government.

“You’re sitting on record profits and we’re giving you more certainty, so you can act now to increase oil production,” Biden explained during a news conference.

But while Biden is making this move in an attempt to look “heroic,” some critics are noting that he’s merely doing this to keep on a good level with fans of his administration. Previously, Democrats had no trouble keeping former President Donald Trump from filling the reserve at a smaller price. As a result, they lost out on some major profits, which might be a reason as to why Biden is shifting course.

Here to speak with us now about Biden’s latest oil move is Guy Mitchell, the author of Global Warming: The Great Deception – The Triumph of Dollars and Politics Over Science and Why You Should Care. His expertise on the matter should prove useful here.

Q&A:

  1. Do you believe Biden is simply doing this in an effort to make himself look good to fellow politicians and fans, or is he looking for some kind of potential profit from oil? Perhaps a bit of both?
  2. Why do you think Democrats (along with Biden) were so adamant about domestic oil production before? Because they could get it cheaper elsewhere? Or something else?
  3. Along with this order on oil, Biden continues to push forward with his clean energy bill. What do you make of that, and could there be any potential friction between the two down the road?
  4. How do you think oil companies will respond to Biden’s move? Will gas prices decrease at some point, or do you see them rising back up again?
  5. Biden said the move wasn’t politically motivated, so why do you think he shifted course so quickly?
  6. Tell us more about your latest book, Global Warming: The Great Deception – The Triumph of Dollars and Politics Over Science and Why You Should Care, and why it’s such a relevant read right now in the face of a potential energy crisis.
  7. Where can consumers find out more about your book, Global Warming: The Great Deception?

It’s available for purchase on Amazon here, and there’s also a Kindle version available here.
