President Biden’s New Violence Prevention Office Has a Dangerous New Agenda – And It Spells Trouble For the Rights of Private Gun Owners (Guest: Stephen Willeford)

The spokesman for the Gun Owners of America explains why members of Congress need to act before Biden and his administration call for a public health emergency.

Just mere days after Gov. Grisham called for a “public health emergency” that temporarily called for the banning of carrying guns in Albuquerque, President Joe Biden has established an office that might just be looking into a similar action for other states.

Right before the weekend, Biden established the “Office of Gun Violence Prevention,” which will be run by his Vice President, Kamala Harris. He noted in a press statement that “the Office of Gun Violence Prevention along with the rest of my Administration will continue to do everything it can to combat the epidemic of gun violence that is tearing our families, our communities, and our country apart.”

But according to the Community Justice Action Fund, Biden intends to use the office to weaponize a public health emergency – similar to Grisham’s – to impose gun control. Even with the Second Amendment to protect them, private gun owners could find their rights violated by Biden’s call for this.

That said, the Gun Owners of America have called upon every member of Congress to take a closer look at the Protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Act, which was just introduced in the House by Rep. Michael Cloud and in the Senate by Sen. Mike Braun. It intends to protect gun owners from further unnecessary and unconstitutional actions that an anti-gun administration – or a new office like Biden’s – could use to impose gun control under a “public health emergency.”

Here to talk about this matter further is the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America, Stephen Willeford. You may recall that Willeford was the “hero with a gun” back in the 2017 Sutherland Springs incident, and he recently co-wrote a book on the subject. His expertise will certainly prove useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. First off, what do you think about Biden establishing an office such as this and considering implementing a “public health emergency” – like Grisham did – to put certain gun bans into effect?
  2. Why do you think that Biden has never considered the idea of Constitutional-Carry (or Concealed-Carry, as some call it) for fighting against “active shooters”? Do you think he’s simply concerned with more guns being in public? Or something else?
  3. Why do you think a Constitutional-Carry rule would be more effective than an outright gun ban?
  4. The Gun Owners of America are promoting the Protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Act. Tell us more about it and why it’s so important at a time such as this.
  5. You recently wrote a book called A Town Called Sutherland Springs: Faith and Heroism Through Tragedy, revolving around your 2017 “hero with a gun” situation. Tell us more about how this came together, and why it’s such an important read right now.
  6. Where can people find your book?
    1. You can purchase the book here on Amazon, both in paperback and Kindle format.
  7. Where can we learn more about you, as well as Gun Owners of America?
