“Hero with a gun” Stephen Willeford believes that Pennsylvania government needs a wake-up call.
There’s a massive crimewave hitting Philadelphia in the form of carjackings – and it’s become to the point that it’s “not normal.”
A report from Fox News reveals that the state has seen more than a 300 percent increase in carjackings at Philadelphia gas stations. It’s gotten to the point where “it’s wild,” according to one citizen, forcing some to potentially arm themselves.
Philadelphia Police Inspector Charles Layton explained, “A lot of people leave their cars running and are reaching into their pockets as well. The first thing they start to do after they put their gas pump in their car, they look at their phones and it’s a crime of opportunity.”
But the real problem apparently lies with former district attorney for the city Larry Krasner, who was recently impeached following controversial policy changes, which in turn have led to an increase in crime. He’s objecting to the impeachment, but what’s done is apparently done.
But where does Philadelphia go from here to keep people safe? The citizen may be onto something when it comes to citizens practicing Constitutional-Carry. With us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, who serves as a spokesman for Gun Owners of America. You may recall in 2017 how he stopped the Sutherland Springs, Texas mass shooting, acting as the “good guy with a gun.” His expertise is certainly welcome in this matter.
Q&A:
- Are you a bit surprised that Constitutional-Carry isn’t being discussed more considering how major cities like Portland, Seattle and New York are seeing an increase in criminal activity?
- Where would you say the problem lies with not enough officers being available? Is this due to the ineptitude of higher-ups such as Kresner, whose policies have apparently led to an increase of crime in Philadelphia?
- You’ve spoken for a great deal of time about the effectiveness of Constitutional-Carry. Do you think there’s an argument for putting it into law, in comparison to, say, banning assault weapons?
- Philadelphia already has a concealed-carry law for select cities, but should this increase in crime have the city take a closer look at how they can expand upon it?
- What advice would you have for people trying to stay safe in Philadelphia and other cities? Especially with the holidays approaching?
- Where can we learn more about you, as well as the Gun Owners of America?
