The White House recently played home to a Teacher of the Year event, where President Joe Biden was paying tribute to some of the best educators in the country. However, a comment he made about the matter left some parents and educators feeling a bit frustrated.
During the event, Biden stated, “You have heard me say it many times about our children, but it is true,” he said. “They’re all our children. And the reason you are the teachers of the year is because you recognize that. They’re not somebody else’s children. They’re like yours when they’re in the classroom.”
Some have taken objection to this statement, adding to the concern about how some subjects, like Critical Race Theory, are taught in schools.
“There is no way that my child, or children, are any other person’s child,” Army of Parents co-founder Elicia Brand noted on Fox News Digital. “They are mine and my husband’s. It is appalling what President Biden has said.”
