Trial and Terror: We the People Pay the Price of Lawfare when Prosecutors Play Politics with their Power
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was pressed on the actions of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who has made clear that making President Trump a target for political reasons was her overarching objective. For James Linlor, this case epitomizes the broader crisis of “Lawfare” that has touched him personally.
The concept is simple but devastating. When justice is no longer blind, it becomes a weapon. Letitia James embodies this problem. Her stated mission to “get Trump” was not rooted in legal principle but in political ambition. In Linlor’s view, this undermines the very foundation of the American system of justice, where checks and balances are designed to protect citizens from abuses of power. As he points out, the framers of the Constitution understood human nature. They built safeguards precisely because they knew that those at the top of the political ladder are not immune from corruption or greed.
They also have no one above them to hold them accountable, which is why the Declaration starts with “We the People” and taps them as the group having that power, endowed by Our Creator.
But safeguards only work if the people and their representatives enforce them. Too often, Americans are told to defer to authority figures—judges, prosecutors, or elected officials—as if holding high office automatically makes one a guardian of justice. Linlor warns that this mindset is incredibly dangerous. “Prosecutors require oversight too,” he stresses, invoking Lord Acton’s timeless warning that “absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
The unchecked rise of Lawfare threatens every American, not just political figures. Today it may be Trump, tomorrow it could be anyone who falls out of favor with those in power. Without political will and citizen vigilance, ambitious officials like James will continue to run roughshod over others, eroding faith in the rule of law itself.
James Linlor is available to speak on the dangers of Lawfare, the constitutional principles at stake, and why Americans must demand oversight of those entrusted with prosecutorial power.
In the end, Linlor insists that Lawfare is not a partisan issue but a constitutional one. Allowing prosecutors like Letitia James to openly weaponize their offices against political opponents sets a precedent that erodes liberty for everyone. Today’s target may be a high-profile political figure, but tomorrow’s target could be an activist, a journalist, or any citizen who dares to challenge those in power. That is why We the People must remain vigilant. Lawfare thrives in silence and complacency. Only by shining a light on abuse can Americans ensure that justice remains truly just.

ABOUT JAMES LINLOR…
He is a government whistleblower saying he’s getting extorted (and others) via lawfare to extort money from contractors because they have security clearance. If they would cave, they already would have caved to the Chinese.
He wants to raise awareness on this lawfare stuff to protect government contractors. We need to get the DOJ and FBI involved. He’s conservative but has friends who are more liberal.
