Joe Lieberman Dies at 82 (Guest: Grant Berry)

Former vice-presidential nominee Joe Lieberman died Wednesday from complications due to a fall. Best known as the first Jewish candidate on a major ticket, he was Al Gore’s vice-presidential pick in 2000, the year Gore lost a close race but kept demanding various recounts until the Supreme Court stepped in and stopped it.

Lieberman, a Senator from Connecticut, lost his seat in the Democratic primary of 2006 but decided to run as an independent. He won in the general election and returned to the Senate.

The big shock came when he backed Republican John McCain against Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.

He continued to be a thorn in the side of Democrats to his dying days, chairing No Labels Group that was considering an independent presidential ticket in 2024.

Joining us now to discuss the career of Joe Lieberman is Grant Berry, founder of Reconnecting Ministries and the author and producer of the Romans 911 project. Welcome, Mr. Berry.
