Is Former President Donald Trump’s Indictment Giving Chinese Media a Huge Talking Point Over the Collapse of American Democracy?

The Epoch Times’ investigative reporter Nan Su explains how the Chinese Communist Party could be using the indictment to its advantage.

Just a few days ago, former President Donald Trump went to New York to face multiple felony counts following an indictment issued by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. And while the media has been having a field day surrounding the case with numerous reports, Chinese media seems to be using it to a different advantage.

Reports indicate that China’s own media has spent the last few days speaking about the indictment, using the case to push its theories about the collapse of American democracy and strengthen the CCP’s political system. This is in retaliation to previous situations surrounding the two countries, including the shooting down of a surveillance balloon and the actions of a Senate Judiciary Committee, assigned to look into the actions of the Chinese Communist Party.

On top of that, it appears that Chinese social media is getting into the act, possibly with some push from the CCP. Per this report from Yahoo!, users have been noting how the U.S. was “embarrassed” over the indictment, and Trump is making China look so good, he “should just join the Chinese Communist Party.”

How likely is this to continue in the months ahead, especially as tensions rise between China and Taiwan and the United States? Joining us to discuss this further is Nan Su, an investigative reporter for The Epoch Times that continuously looks into the actions of China. His expertise will prove useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. Would you say that China may be going too far as to suggest that Trump’s actions could be the downfall of American democracy?
  2. Regarding social media, could the CCP be pushing users to talk more about Trump and just how embarrassed the United States should be?
  3. You noted how this is being used to “prove the advantage of the CCP political system.” Can you discuss this theory further?
  4. Will the Judiciary Committee likely use this matter to fuel their investigation further? Namely with how the CCP abuses the media system?
  5. We’ve been hearing how China could very well retaliate against Taiwan in a “hostile takeover” sort of scenario. Could you see this happening? And for that matter, could a war take place between China and the United States?
  6. Speaking of what’s going on with China, you recently contributed to a new Epoch Times documentary called The Final WarTell us more about it and why it’s such a compelling subject with everything that’s happening right now.
  7. Where can we learn more about you and see your work over on The Epoch Times?
