Iran has Liarhea (Guest: Alireza Jafarzadeh)

Tehran’s Nuclear Deception Flows: Trump ‘less confident’ it will stop

President Trump has expressed increasing uncertainty about reviving a nuclear deal with Iran, admitting in a June 11 interview that he’s “getting more and more — less confident” that Tehran will halt its uranium enrichment efforts. Still, he reaffirmed his position that Iran “will never” obtain a nuclear weapon—leaving the door open to military action if diplomacy fails.

This hardline commentary arrives less than 24 hours after a major press conference by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), in which Alireza Jafarzadeh revealed Iran’s covert nuclear activities—specifically, that Tehran has not only persisted with its enrichment program but accelerated it in secret. According to the NCRI, Iran has funneled as much as $2 trillion into its nuclear agenda over three decades, overseen a clandestine “Kavir Plan” including four sites in Semnan Province, and is rapidly stockpiling 60 percent enriched uranium—significantly scaling back the time needed to develop nuclear weapons

Trump’s remarks echo the depiction of a U.S.–Iran standoff, where five rounds of indirect talks since April have collapsed over Tehran’s refusal to relinquish enrichment—seen by the U.S. as a non-negotiable red line. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has flagged Iran for non-compliance as enrichment levels near weapons-grade thresholds and inspector access remains constrained.

With both parties entrenched, diplomatic options appear fragile, raising fears of escalation.

Why this matters now: Jafarzadeh’s unique insight into Tehran’s proven pattern of nuclear obfuscation—”tapping us along,” as Trump put it—could illuminate the latest revelations and how they shift the risk calculus. As Iran presses ahead with enrichment amid diplomatic deadlock and global alarm, Jafarzadeh can contextualize what comes next: renewed U.S. pressure, potential sanctions or military options, and whether the covert acceleration shown by the NCRI signals a decisive pivot in Iran’s strategy.
