Ilhan Omar Rallies for Bernie in Jewish-Muslim ‘Unity’ But on Behalf of What?

Intro: In a rousing intro to candidate Bernie Sanders at a lively Minnesota rally, Rep. Ilan Omar (D-MN) touted their mutual credentials as fighters for “asylum-seekers” and “the working-class”. Despite Omar’s record as a hater of Israel and her numerous anti-Semitic statements, the Jewish-American Sanders seems happy to have her support, since they share the Socialist agenda. How can we explain this odd couple, and doesn’t Sanders care about anti-Semitism?

Mayor David Rubin, of Shiloh Israel, and author of “Trump and the Jews” is here to explain.

Suggested Q&A:

  1. Why it surprising to you, as an Israeli and an Orthodox Jew, that Ilhan Omar has endorsed Bernie Sanders, who is a Jewish-American and in such a big way? Omar is a Muslim who doesn’t hide her hatred of Jews, and especially of Israel, but she apparently had a very compelling reason for endorsing Sanders, as opposed to another leftist, like Elizabeth Warren.
  2. In your opinion, what is the reason? Her endorsement of Bernie Sanders, who as a young man volunteered on a kibbutz, an agricultural settlement in Israel, is a way of overcoming her anti-Semitic, anti-Israel image, by endorsing a candidate who happens to be a Jew from Brooklyn, and with a give-away Brooklyn accent, despite his adopted state of Vermont.
  3. Does it surprise you, as a long-time Israeli, who nonetheless grew up in Brooklyn, that Sanders happily accepted Omar’s endorsement? Not at all. Sanders is a JINO, a Jew in name only, just like other secular Jewish haters of Israel, just like George Soros. Bernie’s religion is Socialism and that’s all that matters to him.
  4. So, is that the real kinship between Sanders and Omar? Absolutely, their mutual hatred of Trump for protecting America’s borders and for boosting America’s free-market economy, in which Jews have thrived by the way, that is what binds Sanders and Omar together, despite their obvious differences in background.
  5. Much of what we’ve been discussing is included in your book, “Trump and the Jews”. Where can people get a copy? You can go to my website www.DavidRubinIsrael.com or just go to Amazon and type in the words “Trump and the Jews”.
