At 2A Event in Cleveland, Three banned, A/C Down, food trucks harassed, fire marshals swarm
What does transGun Con was supposed to be a celebration of America’s fastest‑growing 2A community. Instead, this year’s show—held in Cleveland’s cavernous Twist Drill building, owned by a transgender extremist—turned into a case study in discrimination, intimidation, and bureaucratic harassment. Temperatures hit triple digits when the venue’s air‑conditioning “failed.” Food trucks were slapped with surprise inspections, and fire marshals roamed the aisles just as the crowd peaked. Three well‑known pro‑gun advocates were summarily banned from the building without explanation.
Stephen Willeford—the “good guy with a gun” who stopped the Sutherland Springs church massacre and now serves as spokesman for Gun Owners of America—was on the ground, sweating it out with attendees and vendors. Willeford is available now for interviews to detail what really happened, why it matters for free speech and public safety, and how anti‑gun extremists are learning new ways to choke off 2A gatherings without ever passing a law.
Key angles Willeford can address:
- How selective enforcement and “surprise” code crackdowns are becoming the left’s favorite backdoor gun‑control weapon.
- Why banning speakers at a public venue—while the AC mysteriously dies—looks a lot like viewpoint discrimination.
- How small businesses (including 2A‑friendly vendors like Blackout Coffee, CMMG, and Brownells) got caught in the crossfire.
- What organizers can do next time: legal preparedness, rapid‑response PR, and partnering with firms such as Attorneys On Retainer to keep bureaucrats from steamrolling events.
Willeford’s credibility is ironclad: he ended a mass shooting with his own rifle, he’s battled hostile city councils, and he still tours the country training church security teams. He’ll pull no punches on how bureaucratic intimidation threatens every lawful gun owner—and how the community can fight back.
