Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts explains why the protests are a far bigger danger than people may realize.
Pro-Palestinian protests are picking up quickly in the United States, with many calling for a ceasefire in Gaza in the hopes of saving lives. What people don’t realize, however, is that they’re putting even more at risk.
Dozens of protests have taken place in various states, resulting in a number of arrests. But a much bigger one just took place in New York, right in front of News Corp – the home of the Fox News channel. Police reacted quickly, arresting demonstrators and breaking up crowds.
What’s the danger in this? The possibility of some protestors getting out of hand and injuring police officers and others. While their message may be of peace, the aggressiveness of their protests are putting said officers to the test.
What’s more, it’s creating a situation where more and more of them are dealing with the protest – while distracting them from taking care of other criminal acts. (A quick reminder that several states have seen an all-time high increase in crime thanks to the lack of police officers, including Boston and San Francisco.)
Joining us now to discuss this concerning situation is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt.
