Farmageddon (Guest: Andrea Widburg)

Media Buries China’s Role in Argo-Terrorism on American Soil

If Chinese nationals had tried to poison America’s food supply under any other administration, it would dominate headlines for weeks. But because it happened under Trump — and because the perpetrators were Chinese researchers with ties to the CCP — legacy media outlets are doing everything they can to bury the story… or twist it into another attack on the president.

Conservative author and commentator Andrea Widburg is sounding the alarm over what she calls “a case of attempted biological sabotage that should have shaken the country — but instead exposed how deep the media’s anti-Trump reflexes run.”

The Justice Department has charged two Chinese nationals, Yunqing Jian and Zunyong Liu, with smuggling into the U.S. a weaponized fungus — Fusarium graminearum — linked to China’s state-funded research programs. The fungus, which destroys staple crops and produces toxins harmful to humans and livestock, was allegedly brought in for secret research at the University of Michigan, where Jian worked. Jian, according to the DOJ complaint, is a proud CCP member. (DOJ press release, WaPo, Reuters)

And yet, the New York Times and CNN both framed the story as just another example of Trump’s “crackdown on foreign academics.” That framing, Widburg says, is willful gaslighting — and it reflects an institutional blindness to the CCP’s growing use of academia as a beachhead for infiltration and sabotage.

Andrea Widburg is available for interviews and commentary on the dangerous media cover-up, the geopolitical implications of CCP bioterrorism, and the need for vigilance in the face of America’s true adversaries.

ABOUT ANDREA WIDBURG…

Andrea Widburg is the Managing Editor of American Thinker and has been with that site since 2020. She is a former Democrat who was raised in San Francisco and received a BA from UC Berkeley. After receiving a JD from the University of Texas at Austin, she worked as a lawyer in the San Francisco Bay Area for 30 years and raised two children. Appearing in leftist-run courts, raising children against a culture hostile to childhood innocence, and witnessing the Democrat party turn against Israel, along with the shock therapy of 9/11, made her reexamine her political beliefs, leading her to embrace constitutional conservatism.
