The Epoch Times’ Kevin Stocklin discusses his latest piece, in which scientists from MIT and Princeton give dire warning about what the EPA has in mind with its plan to cut CO2 emissions in America’s electric grid.
Based on testimony from two scientists from MIT and Princeton, the EPA could be leading America into “disastrous” waters with its new plan to impose CO2 emissions limits on power generators .
According to this report from The Epoch Times, the scientists – Dr. William Happer from Princeton University and Dr. Richard Lindzen from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – say the Environmental Protection Agency’s efforts to cut CO2 emissions in electricity generation will be dangerous for the country, and “for no scientifically justifiable reason.”
The duo spoke in a recent testimony, explaining how the EPA’s plan was based on political opinions and consensus rather than scientific facts.
“The unscientific method of analysis, relying on consensus, peer review, government opinion, models that do not work, cherry-picking data and omitting voluminous contradictory data, is commonly employed in these studies and by the EPA in the Proposed Rule,” they noted in their testimony. “None of the studies provides scientific knowledge, and thus none provides any scientific support for the Proposed Rule.”
They continued, “All of the models that predict catastrophic global warming fail the key test of the scientific method: they grossly overpredict the warming versus actual data. The scientific method proves there is no risk that fossil fuels and carbon dioxide will cause catastrophic warming and extreme weather.”
But will the testimony fall on deaf ears? Will there be those that continue to push for the EPA’s solution, no matter what the consequences may be?
Joining us now to discuss this further is Kevin Stocklin, a senior investigative reporter for The Epoch Times who posted the article above.
Q&A:
- Do you believe Dr. Happer and Dr. Lindzen are correct in their statement that the EPA are leaning more towards political opinion than scientific fact with their CO2 emissions?
- Did the EPA simply implement this “quickie” solution without putting in the effort to see if it was based on reliable data and would actually be workable?
- Will the research from the scientists be considered, or will Biden and company simply go full steam ahead on their solution?
- What has been the price paid by scientists like Drs Happer and Lindzen for criticizing the global warming narrative?
- Do you believe that America will pay a “disastrous” price as a result of this solution? Could it further add to the climate crisis that so many Americans – as well as others around the world – are facing?
- What’s the proper solution, you think, to a problem such as this? And could it ever be achieved with all the political furor surrounding it?
