The FDA Approves Opill, Putting Women’s Health at Risk (Guest: Jim Harden)

Recently, the FDA approved an over-the-counter, abortifacient contraception, Opill, an abortifacient contraception method that prevents a woman’s healthy reproductive process from continuing and destroys a newly formed baby. And while the thought of using abortion as contraception is unpopular, in support of the FDA’s unethical decision, the pro-abortion American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists passively admitted abortion is indeed being used as birth control.

Jim Harden, CEO of CompassCare, wrote about this controversial matter in an Op-Ed to The Western Journal:

“Peer-reviewed medical studies still demonstrate that the once-a-day pill under consideration carries a “carcinogenic risk … at least comparable to the risk of [combined oral contraceptives].” The World Health Organization has listed oral contraceptives as Group 1 carcinogens along with plutonium, causing increased risk of breast, cervical and liver cancer. One study reveals that breast cancer incidences have increased 242 percent since 1970, coinciding with the widespread use of hormonal birth control. Additional risks include heart attack and stroke.”

Rev. Harden says this move by the FDA to expose women and girls to carcinogenic and other health risks (such as daily bleeding in 21% of women) without physician oversight—or even parental guidance—recklessly holds women’s health hostage to a pro-abortion political narrative.

On the same day as the FDA’s approval, Vice President Kamala Harris reiterated the Biden Administration’s investment in “population reduction.”

Rev. Jim Harden joins us now to discuss this further.

Q&A:

  1. What is Opill and why is it so dangerous to women?
  2. It is well-documented that hormonal contraception causes cancer. Why is hormonal contraception so widely used?
  3. You have noted that the FDA’s advisory panel that approved the drug was made up of abortion activists. Is this a conflict of interest?
  4. Does Opill really kill a baby?
  5. As a reverend, how would you advise pastors to counsel a family who may be making decisions themselves or helping their daughter make a decision regarding hormonal contraception?
  6. How does the FDA’s decision add fuel to the pro-abortion 2024 Election flame?
  7. What can we expect in the coming months regarding pro-abortion policies such as this?
  8. You’ve said that Antifa shifting from physical attacks against pro-life pregnancy centers to legal and legislative ones to accomplish their goals. Is the FDA’s decision on Opill consistent with that emerging pattern?
  9. Where can people go to learn more about CompassCare?
