DC Police Officers – and Maybe Even the FBI – Played an Undercover Role During the January 6th Riots, According to Prosecutor

Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts can’t wrap his mind around how the FBI planted officers at the scene.

In the midst of several people being tried and convicted for their role during what occurred at the U.S. Capitol back on January 6th, 2021, a case surrounding a particular suspect has brought forth an interesting revelation.

According to The Epoch Times, William Pope of Topeka, Kansas was trying to get video footage of what occurred that day removed from court seal. However, prosecutors have objected to this, mainly because they figured he would have his case “tried” by the media instead of the court. However, they also revealed another startling reason – undercover police officers were used.

The federal prosecutor for the case admitted that three D.C. Metropolitan Police Department undercover officers were on the scene, acting as provocateurs on the northwest steps of the Capitol. But what’s more, the FBI may have been involved as well.

Pope filed the motion to remove the seal back in late February, though it has yet to be answered.

Said Pope about the matter, “The officer clearly incited that area, and we still don’t have video from all other undercover MPD. And as the numerous informants in the Proud Boys trial demonstrates, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface on FBI involvement.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Moran argued against removing the seal on the footage, noting, “His desire to try his case in the media rather than in a court of law is illegitimate, and the government has met its burden to show the necessity of the protective order.”

So if the footage remains locked up, is justice really being carried out? Why isn’t more explanation surrounding the officers being on scene being discussed more? With us now to try and make more sense of this is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. He is founder, president and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. His expertise should be useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. So why do you think undercover officers were on the scene during what happened at the U.S. Capitol? To keep things under control? To survey what was happening?
  2. Why do you think the prosecutor is so hellbent on keeping the video footage under wraps? Are they afraid the officers will get exposed, or something else possibly coming to light?
  3. Speaking as a law enforcement veteran, does Pope have the right to request use of the footage in an effort to clear his name?
  4. Do you believe FBI informants may have been at the Capitol that day as well? What do you think was the role they played?
  5. What do you think about the trials surrounding those that were at the Capitol as a whole? Do you think more justice should’ve been provided to argue their case? Do you believe they’re being robbed of justice?
  6. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
