The Epoch Times’ investigative reporter discusses the country’s efforts to “de-dollar-ize” the value of American currency.
There’s no question that the United States and China have been at each other’s throats over the past few months, between the shooting down of a surveillance balloon over U.S. territory and an ongoing committee looking into the actions of the CCP. But it appears China might be trying to hurt the U.S. in a different way – through devaluation of the dollar.
Several articles have indicated the small but significant moves made by China. For instance, Bloombergmade note of China recently talking with Malaysia in regards to cutting the dependency on the U.S. dollar; and Central Banking recently reported on a new infrastructure to make renminbi much higher in value.
This is on top of the news that the China’s yuan has managed to surpass U.S. dollars as the most traded currency in Moscow. There’s no secret that China and Russia have been trying to tie together their alliance in a number of ways, but this shows just how powerful their currency has become in that country.
So what now? Joining us to discuss this further is Nan Su, an investigative reporter for The Epoch Times that continuously looks into the actions of China. His expertise will prove useful in this matter.
Q&A:
- Is it any secret that Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party are looking into ways to “de-dollar-ize” and hurt the value of American currency?
- Could they be taking an advantage of the ongoing situation with inflation and other monetary problems within the USA? Or is China taking a different approach?
- How did yuan become a more popular traded currency than the U.S. dollar in Moscow? Is it just a general hatred for U.S. currency? Or something that Putin may have put into play?
- What will this mean for the value of the U.S. dollar in the years ahead? Could China actually succeed in giving it lesser value? Or does President Biden have a plan to keep its value in place?
- There’s word that, if things aren’t settled down soon, the United States and China could be at war in a couple of years. Do you see this happening?
- Speaking of what’s going on with China, you recently contributed to a new Epoch Times documentary called The Final War. Tell us more about it and why it’s such a compelling subject with everything that’s happening right now.
- Where can we learn more about you and see your work over on The Epoch Times?
