Gun Owners of America (GOA) spokesman Stephen Willeford is available for Talk Show interviews on the Buffalo, NY mass shooting, leaving 10 people dead, and this statement:
“We all mourn the senseless deaths of Americans due to the hatred of this murderous individual.
Unfortunately, politicians at the state and federal levels quickly jumped to the conclusion that more gun control would have prevented this act or others like it from happening in the future, without even considering that New York has some of the toughest gun laws on the books.
Additionally, this murderer specifically identified places where good people were heavily restricted from being able to protect themselves with firearms.”
Erich Pratt, GOA’s Senior Vice President added:
“Sadly, elected politicians are using this tragedy to attack the rights of law-abiding citizens, rather than taking the time to evaluate what happened and how this man, who was already known to law enforcement for previous threats, was able to carry out this heinous crime. Our elected officials must work to restore the rights of Americans so they may face this evil head-on if necessary.”
New York already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet they continue to see historic increases in violent crime. Among some of their most radical policies, the State enforces:
- universal background checks,
- a firearm safety certificate requirement,
- Red Flag gun confiscation orders,
- a ban on so-called “assault weapons,”
- a near impossible to meet “good cause” requirement for concealed carry permit issuance,
- a campus carry ban,
- a prohibition against arming teachers,
- an unconstitutional 10-day waiting period,
- and several ammunition controls.
Stephen Willeford – the armed citizen who engaged and put a stop to the Sutherland Springs, Texas shooter – who was also wearing body armor five years ago – is available for interviews.
Gun Owners of America is a nonprofit grassroots lobbying organization dedicated to protecting the right to keep and bear arms without compromise. GOA represents over two million members and activists.
