The former Mayor of Shiloh believes a ceasefire may not be the best way to go at this point in the fight.
Even though it’s been over a year since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began, there are those that still believe a ceasefire is the best resolution.
This includes U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron, who believe they are close to a ceasefire deal between the two parties in Lebanon, according to four senior sources.
White House national security spokesman John Kirby noted, “We’re close, nothing is done until everything is done.”
That said, both Biden and Macron believe they have “made progress.” And what’s more, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while not publicly acknowledging approval just yet, reportedly noted that text was approved during a recent cabinet meeting in Israel.
But is it the best resolution at this time? Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin doesn’t believe so. He’s concerned about not only Hamas rebuilding its sources, but Israel being hesitant at a time when he believes they could achieve total victory.
Rubin, who currently serves as the Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund as well, joins us now to discuss the matter further. Welcome, David!
Q&A:
- Why do you believe a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas shouldn’t take place right now?
- What about the hostages? Is there an alternate plan that could see their rescue, rather than negotiation for their release?
- You did indicate that the only way this ceasefire makes sense if it involves something with a direct military attack on Iran’s nuclear sites. Can you discuss this further?
- Is there a possibility that Biden may have pushed for this ceasefire out of desperation, so that he could accomplish something on it before his replacement, newly re-elected President Donald Trump, could do so?
- Where do you see the conflict between Israel and Hamas going in the months ahead? Is Israel truly close to complete victory over its enemies?
- Tell us more about the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund and how it can help those in need.
