Biden About to go Nuclear with Iran

Nuclear Negotiations Have Begun with Iran

Interview guest David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel

Suggested interview intro:

Channel 12 News in Israel is reporting that with Joe Biden entering the White House, negotiations have already begun for the US to reenter the JCPOA, the Iran nuclear deal that the Trump administration had deemed “a disaster”. According to the report, Israeli officials have been informed about those conversations,

The Biden administration, despite its eagerness to reconcile with the revolutionary Shiite Muslim regime, is already receiving firm signals of opposition from a Middle Eastern alliance of countries including Israel and several of its newfound partners in the Persian Gulf, along with Egypt and Jordan.

Will President Biden reconsider or is a confrontation of interests inevitable?

Here to discuss is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh in Israel and author of “Trump and the Jews”.

Suggested Interview Questions:

  1. Is this a surprise, that negotiations have already begun, even before Biden’s formation of a foreign policy team? It is surprising, because one would have hoped that Biden would first want to learn the ropes and get updated about what has transpired for the past four years.
  2. Okay, but we know that this hasn’t been an easy transition. Even so, Biden was vice-president under Obama, so wasn’t he knowledgeable about the Iran nuclear issue? He was, to some extent. The problem is much deeper and has to do with “The Art of the Deal”. A good negotiator doesn’t dive head-first into negotiations. Just as the Iranians understood that the Obama-Biden administration was desperate to get a deal at any cost the first time around, so too, this new administration is again telegraphing weakness by starting early negotiations when they could have waited patiently.
  3. What are the issues in these negotiations? We can go down a long list, but we’ll suffice with just a few. Iran is enriching uranium at levels at least twelve times beyond what is allowed in the original deal. High levels of enrichment are exactly what is needed only for a nuclear bomb. Furthermore, only a fraction of the underground nuclear sites in Iran are subject to investigation by the international nuclear inspectors, so in those places, they can do whatever they want, deal or no deal.
  4. What is this strategic alliance between Israel and some Arab countries that we are hearing about? Israel and several Sunni Muslim Arabs countries have been putting out a very clear signal of opposition to any rapprochement with the Iranian regime, and we can expect those signals to get significantly stronger in the coming weeks and months.
  5. Your book, “Trump and the Jews” explains how the Iran nuclear crisis developed as well as the differences in the Trump-Biden approaches to this dilemma. Where can people get a copy? They can get a copy at www.DavidRubinIsrael.com or go to Amazon and type in the words, Trump and the Jews.
