A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America explains why the repeal of the silly policy is a big win for private gun owners.
A long-standing policy applied by the Biden Administration has bitten the dust – and it’s a big win for the Second Amendment.
It has been announced that the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have repealed the controversial Federal Firearms Administrative Action Policy, also known as the Zero Tolerance policy.
It was initially put in place to harass gun dealers for minor paperwork errors, creating a sense of unnecessary fear in the gun market. But, thanks to the Trump Administration and Attorney General Pam Bondi, it’s no longer a concern.
In addition, both agencies will also begin “formal reviews” in an effort to see how badly it was utilized against owners of gun shops.
Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America (GOA), noted, “For years, the Zero Tolerance Policy has been a tool of political retribution—targeting gun stores and Americans who were simply trying to exercise their rights. We applaud President Trump, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Kash Patel for listening to gun owners and taking action to repeal this abusive policy. This is what pro-gun leadership looks like.”
Aidan Johnson, who serves as Director of Federal Affairs for Gun Owners of America, added, “Under President Trump’s leadership, we’re seeing a realignment toward the Constitution. This repeal and regulatory review of ATF’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy sends a clear message that the era of Biden gun control is over. GOA is grateful for the administration’s commitment to restoring Second Amendment rights and standing with law-abiding gun owners nationwide.”
Joining us now is a spokesman for the Gun Owners of America to discuss the importance of the bill, and any potential opposition it may face.
Mark Jones, who serves as National Director for the Gun Owners of America, is available for interview.
In addition, there is Stephen Willeford, who currently serves as spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. Stephen is the “hero with a gun” from the Sutherland Springs incident in 2017, which he has since co-written a book about.
We welcome them to the show!
Q&A:
- Why do you think Joe Biden was so determined to put the Zero Tolerance policy into effect in the first place?
- What is it about the rights of gun owners that Biden was so determined against? Do you believe he was that concerned about growing violence in our country, and putting ridiculous laws into effect were the only answer?
- How do you think Pam Bondi and the Trump Administration have done in terms of giving rights back to private gun owners?
- Is it possible that the ATF could be reshaped in an effort to undo the damage done by Biden and his Administration over the years?
- FOR STEPHEN: You recently wrote a book called A Town Called Sutherland Springs: Faith and Heroism Through Tragedy, revolving around your 2017 “hero with a gun” situation. Tell us more about how this came together, and why it’s such an important read right now.
