Are Members of Congress Really Paying For Anti-Gun Studies For Gun Control? (Guest: Stephen Willeford)

The Gun Owners of America spokesman discusses what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) just might be planning.

There are members of Congress that thrive on any kind of anti-gun measures they can provide, but a new report suggests they’re digging a little deeper to make them work.

Reports indicate that there are some members of Congress that are spending millions in tax dollars for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to produce biased anti-gun studies in an effort to promote and advocate for gun control.

These vary across a number of subjects, including gun confiscation laws, mandatory waiting periods, and gun control options, such as the “firearm retirement age,” which would stop older people from attaining firearms.

While the Mary Miller Meeks Amendment to H.R. 4894 does prevent funds to be used for any sort of “mortality prevention research,” that doesn’t appear to be stopping these Congress members from trying on their part.

Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall Willeford being the “hero with a gun” with the Sutherland Springs situation in 2017, in which he’s co-authored a book. His expertise on gun rights make him an ideal interviewee for this subject. Welcome, Stephen!
