The law enforcement veteran and InVest USA founder discusses the absurd bill that could bring more trouble from the migrant crisis.
With so many migrants making their way into the United States, there stands a danger with violence against its natural citizens. But a new bill out of California actually appears to be going out of its way to protect the former.
A bill has been drafted in California that would allow for the protection of illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes from any form of deportation. As such, many – including X owner Elon Musk – have spoken out against it.
California Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez, on a recent episode of Fox & Friends,explained just how absurd the bill actually is.
“I have to tell you honestly, our California voters and people across the nation deserve transparency,” Sanchez explained earlier this week. “They deserve…to know their hardworking taxpayer dollars are going, especially times that just now, are going to things that we want to reward in California, not to expand a program that would have allowed convicted illegal immigrants to stay here.”
She continued, “It blows my mind. Honestly, it was one of those bills that you have to read two to three times, and it was shocking all the way through.”
Democrat Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer noted that the idea behind the bill was that “the people are given a second chance”. However, that usually refers to the citizens of this country, and not migrants.
Fortunately, the criticism has forced the bill to be shelved – at least for the moment. But the question is what California may attempt next.
