Reconnecting Ministries founder Grant Berry discusses a recent report suggesting how Jews are going through more harassment than ever before.
The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has left quite the impact around the world. And here in the U.S., it’s created an unstoppable surge of anti-Semitism.
According to this report from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), anti-Semitic incidents against Jewish people have surged in the U.S. throughout 2024, reaching its highest levels in nearly 50 years. Approximately 9,354 incidents have been reported, including assault, harassment and vandalism.
“This is the fourth year in a row that anti-Semitic incidents increased and broke the previous all-time high,” the group noted. “It is also the first time that incidents containing elements related to Israel or Zionism made up a majority of all incidents, 58 percent of the total.”
What’s more, nearly 1,700 of these anti-Semitic incidents came on college campuses – a whopping 84 percent increase over the previous year. This ties in with numerous protests that have taken place in college campuses across the United States, which have supported Palestine.
So will anti-Semitism continue to rise as the year goes on? Or can something be done about it?
Joining us now to discuss this further is Grant Berry, founder of Reconnecting Ministries and the author and producer of the Romans 911 project. His expertise on the matter make him a great subject for this interview. Welcome, Mr. Berry.
Q&A:
- What are your thoughts on the ADL’s report of growing anti-Semitism within the United States?
- Why do you think it grown so vastly? Are that many people really pushing for hatred towards Israel?
- What about these protests on college campuses? Are they motivating younger students to push back against Israel and Jewish people as a whole?
- What can be done about it, if anything? We know that President Trump is starting to push back against universities in an effort to quell these protests, but is that enough?
- Where do you see the conflict between Israel and Hamas going in the months ahead?
