Even though its decision last week on overturning Roe vs. Wade has left the world reeling, an upcoming case for the Supreme Court could be one of its biggest yet – where it will decide on West Virginia vs. the Environmental Protection Agency.
Depending how the decision is made, it could affect how the EPA operates from hereon in. If decided in a certain way, it may no longer be in charge of deciding how power plant emissions are regulated. Power would be taken out of the hands of President Joe Biden and instead given to Congress.
Through the Clean Air Act that was originally put into place during the Obama era, the EPA are given control over such decisions. However, if the Supreme Court rules against them, it could easily take away said powers. Furthermore, it could force the Biden administration to hold up unveiling their power plant regulation rules, which would supposedly result in the U.S. power grid to run on clean energy within just over a decade’s time.
Joining us now to provide his insight on the EPA and what could come from this case is Guy Mitchell. His expertise shows in his latest book, Global Warming: The Great Deception, where he discusses a number of flawed claims surrounding global warming.
Q&A:
- How crucial a decision would this be for the government, as well as how the Environmental Protection Agency is run?
- What kind of dent would this leave in President Biden’s power plant regulation plans? Could this have a better or worse effect on the environment?
- What do you think the EPA will do next if the ruling does favor against them?
- The Supreme Court ruled against the EPA before, back in 2014 when it noted that it overstepped its authority with rewriting the emissions threshold in the Clean Air Act. What effect do you believe this will have on this pending decision?
- Where do you think Biden and the EPA should take their focus as far as finding a proper solution to resolving the issues surrounding world conditions? Or is there an easy solution to find?
