TOPIC: Republican Impeachment Resolution Could Help Sink ATF Nominee David Chipman
Gun Owners of America is resolute in its belief that the nomination of David Chipman, an anti-constitutional gun prohibitionist and gun control lobbyist, is bad for the Second Amendment. The organization has a national alert encouraging all Second Amendment supporters to contact their Senators.
House Republicans believe that Chipman’s previous false testimony to Congress and his public statements on gun-control are evidence of two impeachable offenses. This effort is led by Montana Representative Matt Rosendale, who believes that David Chipman as ATF Director would be “a direct threat to the Second Amendment rights of Americans and the rule of law.”
The Biden administration has been focused on weakening the Second Amendment since his first moments in office. The nomination for ATF Director — David Chipman, an anti-gun activist and former ATF agent — is dangerous for every American gun owner and Second Amendment advocate.
He is opposed by 20 Republican Attorney’s General over his views on weapons, lobbying, and ties to anti-gun groups. As a lobbyist for Bloomberg’s “Everytown for Gun Safety” and later with the GabyGiffordsLawCenter, Chipman has spent his career working against the constitutionally protected rights of gun-owners.

Even though Biden has made gun control a central part of his administration, the recent Supreme Court decisions have taken another direction by upholding the Second Amendment rights of Americans in recent cases that include the GOA/Gun Owners Foundation victory in Caniglia v. Strom.
Gun Owners of America, and its sister organization Gun Owners Foundation, are nonprofits dedicated to protecting the right to keep and bear arms without compromise. For more information, visit GOA’s Press Center.
