Weapons Over-Haul (Guest: David Rubin)

A new report reveals a surprising number of confiscated weapons originally used by Hezbollah.

Rather than waiting for Hamas to eventually disarm and hand over their weapons, a new report from Fox News reveals that the Israel Defense Force (IDF) has confiscated a record of weapons used by Hezbollah. And that’s certainly something of interest to former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin, Founder and President of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund.

  • The IDF recently took in a number of weapons originally used by Hezbollah and Hamas, including a Nazi-era German gun with surprising history behind it.
  • A number of these weapons were used by Hamas terrorists when their attack on southern Israel took place back in October 2023.
  • A State Department official confirmed that it’s still looking for Hezbollah to disarm, but, obviously, that’s a lengthy process.

The IDF recently confiscated a number of rockets, grenades, drones, sniper rifles, automatic weapons, anti-tank rocket launcher and more, which had been used by both Hamas and Hezbollah forces. In fact, a number of them were put to use by Hamas terrorists when they first laid siege onto southern Israel back in October 2023.

What’s surprising is the history behind some of the weapons. Amongst those confiscated was a Nazi-era German gun, though an explanation wasn’t given as to how Hamas or Hezbollah had gotten their hands on it.

The IDF noted how the weapons were used against Lebanese civilians, and how some of the groups had killed over 300 American citizens.

In addition, motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, used to hold rockets and soldiers, were also obtained.

As to why the IDF was able to obtain such an arsenal, Lt. Col (res) Idan Sharon-Kettler noted, “Even after the agreement we had with the Lebanese army and government, once we entered Lebanon again, we kept finding everything that is here. For me, it means, if we are not doing the work to clean Lebanon from military entitles targeting our civilians, nobody else is doing that.”

That said, the State Department for the U.S. noted that it’s still pushing for Lebanon’s government to disarm Hezbollah, though obviously the process is taking longer than anticipated. Still, “We feel good about the trajectory,” they noted.

Rubin joins us now to discuss this situation further. Welcome, Mayor Rubin!

ABOUT DAVID RUBIN…

David Rubin lives in Israel. In 2001, he and his three-year-old son narrowly escaped heinous deaths at the hands of terrorists. If it had not been for his car suddenly starting, Rubin and his son would not have been so fortunate. The younger Rubin deals with the trauma to this day. That experience is what led David to establish the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, to help other young victims of Islamic terrorism, who need to process and deal with their trauma. Rubin, also the former Mayor of Shiloh, Israel is the author of seven books, including his latest, Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel, which has recently been made into a movie. Rubin is the founder and president of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, established after he and his then three-year-old son were wounded in a terror attack.
