FBI Files Backup CIA Pilot’s Claims on JFK

Deadly Subpoenas: FBI File Shows Tosh Plumlee Warned them Johnny Roselli Faced Danger Two Days Before Disappearance

One of the most explosive FBI files connected to the assassination era remained hidden from the public for decades. When it was finally declassified, FBI File #62-2116 — also known as the “Plumlee-Roselli File” — corroborated critical elements of what Robert “Tosh” Plumlee had been saying for years regarding covert operations, Johnny Roselli, and the events surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

The timeline, all within less than one month, is impossible to ignore.

July 26, 1976: Plumlee voluntarily approached the FBI, expressing concern for both his own safety and Roselli’s after indications surfaced that he could be called to testify regarding sensitive intelligence matters.

July 28, 1976: Roselli was officially reported missing.

August 9, 1976: Roselli’s mutilated body was discovered stuffed inside a 55-gallon drum floating near Miami.

August 10, 1976: The FBI interviewed Plumlee in Phoenix specifically because of the warnings he had issued two days before Roselli vanished. That interview generated material now contained inside the declassified Plumlee-Roselli FBI file.

August 21, 1976: The FBI returned to Plumlee for another interview as investigators continued examining Roselli’s murder and related intelligence matters.

If Plumlee was not credible, why were his warnings effectively validated by subsequent events? Why did the FBI maintain such intense interest in him? And why, after August 21, 1976, was Plumlee subpoenaed to testify?

  • FBI file corroborated Plumlee’s pre-murder warnings about Roselli.
  • Roselli reportedly returning to testify about JFK assassination matters.
  • Plumlee claims Roselli joined CIA-linked Dallas abort mission.
  • Roselli murdered days after concerns shared with federal authorities.
  • Declassified records revived questions surrounding intelligence-community secrecy.

Plumlee is available for interviews about the newly relevant significance of that file, which documents warnings he gave federal authorities just days before Roselli disappeared and was brutally murdered in the summer of 1976.

But the story stretches back much further — all the way to November 22, 1963.

According to Plumlee, a CIA contract pilot, Roselli was aboard an aircraft Plumlee co-piloted into Dallas on the day of the Kennedy assassination as part of what Plumlee describes as a CIA-linked “abort team” intended to stop an assassination plot already believed to be in motion. Plumlee has long maintained the operation failed before the motorcade reached Dealey Plaza.

The significance of the story expands even further because Roselli was no ordinary witness. Roselli had already testified before the Church Committee regarding CIA-backed assassination plots against foreign leaders, including operations targeting Fidel Castro. He was reportedly expected to return and testify regarding matters connected to the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Plumlee has also long alleged that Roselli was aboard an aircraft Plumlee co-piloted into Dallas on November 22, 1963, as part of a CIA-linked “abort team” intended to stop an assassination plot already believed to be underway before the presidential motorcade entered Dealey Plaza.

Today, Plumlee is available to discuss the Roselli murder, FBI File #62-2116, CIA-Mafia operations, the Church Committee era, his own subpoena, and why the federal government’s own documents ultimately reinforced warnings he made before Roselli disappeared and turned up dead.
