Breaking the Silence: This Gun Expert Couldn’t Speak On the Real-World Impact of Guns Because of Democrats (Guest: Stephen Willeford)

The Gun Owners of America spokesman discusses what recently happened to Amy Swearer, and why Democrats tried to silence her in an effort to pass their gun control bills.

There go the Democrats, attempting to pass gun bills using their emotional plea instead of facing the facts.

According to Fox News, a Second Amendment expert recently spoke out about what Minnesota Democrats did to keep her from speaking about the facts of real-world impact on guns, instead going for more of an emotional appeal.

Amy Swearer, who serves with the Advancing American Freedom group, explained that these members arbitrarily rejected her written testimony ahead of a key hearing on two gun control bills they’re attempting to pass. They also pushed to make sure she could not testify in person, though she was able to speak for a couple of minutes.

“I think really at the core of it, that’s what they wanted to avoid, to the extent that they could keep this focused on the Annunciation (church) shooting, and to prevent people like myself from coming in and saying, well, first of all, these policies would not have prevented a single death,” she explained to Fox.

As expected, Democrats in Minnesota did not comment on the matter.

At the moment, the bills are currently stalled in committee following a 10-10 tie vote, but it’s probably a matter of time before the Democrats try to get them re-voted upon.

What does this say about Democrats’ approach to gun bills? Would they rather spin their own logic than hearing the truth?

Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the 2017 “hero with a gun” who serves as spokesman for the GOA. We welcome him to the show!

Q&A:

  1. What are your thoughts on Democrats trying to push for more of a dramatic angle for their gun bills, rather than letting an expert explain the truth behind gun effects?
  2. What does this say about general strategy by anti-gun politicians and Democrats as a whole? Do they really try to push the wrong things too far to get these bills passed?
  3. What about the newly founded Civil Rights office in Washington, D.C.? Do you think they could potentially step in to try and argue these unfair gun control bills?
  4. You’ve often spoke about people being allowed to Concealed-Carry or Open Carry in the name of protection. Why do you think it’s a viable solution when stopping potential shooters and other criminals?
  5. Where do you see the discussion on gun rights going in the months ahead?
  6. You recently wrote a book called A Town Called Sutherland Springs: Faith and Heroism Through Tragedy, revolving around your 2017 “hero with a gun” situation. Tell us more about how this came together, and why it’s such an important read right now.
  7. Where can people find your book?
    1. You can purchase the book here on Amazon, both in paperback and Kindle format.
  8. Where can we learn more about you, as well as Gun Owners of America?
