The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the strikes made on Saturday morning, and what it could take to finally stop Iran for good.
After months of contemplating what to do about the growing threat in Iran, the United States and Israel have decided to act.
On Saturday, President Donald Trump confirmed that the U.S. are working with Israel to carry out “major combat operations in Iran.” The goal with these decisive strikes is to remove key targets against the state of Israel, including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Trump noted that the operation wasn’t just to protect the people of Israel, but also citizens of the United States, believing Iran to be “a vicious group of very hard, terrible people.” He noted that the strikes could continue over the next few days. “It’s been mass terror and we are not going to put up with it any longer.”
It seems the big sticking point that frustrated both Trump and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons. However, what’s happening in their home country – with attacks on their own citizens – has also been a heavy cause for concern.
That said, Iran is already reportedly planning retaliation against the strikes; and many, including France President Emmanuel Macron, believe more danger can come from them.
So what happens now? Joining us now to discuss this situation further is former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin, who currently serves as the founder and President of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. Welcome, Mayor Rubin.

- Where does this leave Israel’s ceasefire deal with Hamas? Could they somehow get involved?
- Ultimately, what do you think will come of this? Will Iran be forced to surrender, or could they possibly do something drastic?
