Benjamin Netanyahu Defends Himself the Right Way In His Unnecessary Corruption Trial (Guest: David Rubin)

The former Mayor of Shiloh explains why the trial needs to end, especially when Israel needs Netanyahu the most.

The fact that a corruption trial against the leader of a nation at war seems utterly absurd. And yet, that’s exactly what’s happening to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The long-standing leader took the witness stand as a defendant in a corruption trial, with charges including exchanging regulatory favors for positive press coverage, as well as accepting expensive gifts.

Before taking the stand, Netanyahu’s lawyer Amit Hadad noted that this is nothing more than a political witch hunt, and that prosecutors “weren’t investigating a crime, they were pursuing a man.”

Netanyahu then took the stand, noting how “absurd” it was to see Israeli media rally against him. He also noted it was “doubly absurd” to suggest he received gifts, especially for media coverage.

“I have been waiting for eight years for this moment to tell the truth,” the veteran leader explained. “But I am also a prime minister… I am leading the country through a seven-front war, and I think the two can be done in parallel.”

A lot of people seem to be forgetting that right now.

Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin joins us now to discuss the matter further. He also serves as Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s fund. We welcome him to the show.
